Weed can be purchased without legal objections from April 1, 2024. In previous readings of the law, the so-called 'intoxication clause' severely restricted the trade in cannabis. According to this, abuse of dried weed for intoxication purposes could not be ruled out. When buying several kilos of flowers with a THC content of less than 0.3%, they should be able to be heated in the oven so that the THC content is extracted. As part of the legalization, the trade in industrial hemp beyond cultivation is no longer limited to commercial and scientific purposes that exclude abuse for intoxication purposes, as was previously the case under the exemption regulation of the BtMG (Narcotics Act).
As a result of the cannabis legalization, it is now possible to buy weed online without any problems. The laws governing weed have been largely relaxed, so that the trade in industrial hemp no longer needs to be legally questioned, as long as the applicable limits are observed. The reason for the liberalization is that, due to the changed risk assessment of the trade in cannabis for non-medical purposes, it is assumed that industrial hemp, which usually has a maximum THC content of 0.3%, is not suitable for 'abuse for intoxicating purposes'.
Weed can be bought in various places. In addition to local shops, there is also the option of buying weed online without a prescription. Other sources are so-called Cannabis Social Clubs, which are allowed to open from July 2024. In contrast to other shops, these have products that are free of any limits, provided that the interested party has reached the age of 21.
