What is CBG? Effects and differences to CBD

With over 180 cannabinoids, there is a lot to discover in the cannabis plant. In addition to the most well-known cannabinoids such as CBD and THC, the popularity of one cannabinoid is increasing day by day. The cannabinoids THC and CBD offer so many advantages - is there really another cannabinoid that is supposed to offer even more advantages? Yes, actually.

While the popularity of CBD will not only increase due to the upcoming legalization, another cannabinoid is already in the starting blocks: It is CBG.

Origin and effects of CBG

What is CBG?

Like CBD and THC, CBG is a cannabinoid of the hemp plant. But there is one crucial difference: CBG is considered the mother cannabinoid. While human stem cells serve as the foundation for every other cell, CBG serves as the foundation for every other cannabinoid. Only during growth does CBG convert into other cannabinoids such as CBD or THC. CBG has a particularly high number of important and elementary terpenes and ingredients - in this form it is the most natural composition.

What does CBG mean?

CBG, spelled out as cannabigerol, is one of over 180 cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. It is rich in cannabidiolic acid, tetrahydrocannabinolic acid and cannabichromenic acid.

What is the effect of CBG?

Like other cannabinoids, CBG interacts with the body's endocannabinoid system. This means that not only physiological processes can be influenced, but also cognitive processes. Experience has shown that CBG has an effect on mood, sleep cycles, memory disorders and pain reactions. Recently, CBG itself is said to be able to influence motor function - the effect of CBG is in any case influenced by various terpenes.

Where can I buy CBG?

Since the cannabinoid CBG is not yet so widespread, unlike CBD, there are no easy places to go such as kiosks, gas stations or retailers. There are all kinds of providers on the internet that offer CBG flowers. However, the number of flowers and providers is so confusing that it is very difficult to decide which CBG flowers to order online. We have made the decision for you and tested an incredible number of CBG flowers.

Growing CBG is a difficult undertaking. Since it was legalized in Germany, you can now grow it yourself there – the same goes for THC. We have the right cannabis seeds.

CBG and the differences to CBD

CBG vs. CBD, what’s the difference?

The cannabinoid CBD, spelled out as cannabidiol, is the precursor of CBG. A young cannabis plant contains a large amount of CBG. This amount is the basis of other cannabinoids, just as a person's stem cells form the basis for every other cell. During the cultivation process, CBG is converted into CBD using heat. Unlike CBD, CBG is said to stimulate the appetite, an effect previously only known from the psychoactive cannabinoid tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). CBG is also used to treat nausea. Another difference is that CBG is said to have a positive effect on the eyes by encouraging tears to drain. This can reduce the pressure in the eyes, which has not yet been found with CBD.

Comparing CBG and CBD: Which is better?

While CBD has a poor affinity for cannabis receptors, the opposite is true for CBG. The high accessibility of CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors could give cannabigerol the decisive advantage over CBD in the treatment of a number of health conditions when the comparison is viewed from a medical perspective. However, the different effects of CBG and CBD on different moods make it difficult to make a decision. It should be decided individually which cannabinoid satisfies you more. Experience has shown that the effect of HHC is also individual.

What are the benefits of CBG?

CBG is particularly popular for people with sleep problems. Due to the tiring effect of cannabigerol, cannabis lovers prefer CBG to CBD before going to bed. At the same time, the cannabinoid CBG is convincing because it stimulates the appetite, which is why it can also be used during the day.

What is the difference between CBG oils and CBD oils?

The difference between CBG oil and CBD oil is identical to the difference between CBG flowers and CBD flowers, as they are the same active ingredient, just in a different form. Oils are generally more concentrated and have a higher dosage, as they contain the pure active ingredients.

The difference between full-spectrum and broad-spectrum CBD oils is also a relevant topic due to the composition of different cannabinoids in the oils.
